feeling a bit anxious about the day ahead

Today was all about finding balance. I woke up feeling a bit anxious about the day ahead. There was so much to do and I wasn’t sure how I’d manage it all. But I reminded myself of my commitment to focus one thing at a time.

My first task was to go to the office. As a lawyer my work can be demanding and it’s easy to get overwhelmed. I had several cases to review and deadlines to meet. Normally I would have been stressed out trying to juggle everything at once. But today I decided to focus on one case at a time.

I shut out all distractions closed unnecessary tabs on my computer, and gave my full attention to the case in front of me. To my surprise I found that I was able to work more efficiently. By focusing on one thing at a time I got through my work faster and with less stress.

After work, I headed to my dance class. Again I reminded myself to focus on the dance and let go of everything else. It wasn’t easy especially with all the worries swirling in my head. But I did my best, and for a little while I found peace in the rhythm of the music.

In the evening I took some time to reflect on the day. I realized that by focusing on one thing at a time I had been able to achieve more than I usually did. It was a small victory but it felt like a big step in the right direction.
