My mind started wandering to the bills
Today started like any other day. I woke up rubbed the sleep from my eyes and stared at the ceiling for a moment. My mind started wandering to the bills I need to pay and the projects that haven’t been going as planned But then I caught myself. I remembered something important: the only way to be happy is to live in the present moment not to worry about the past or the future.
I got out of bed and decided to focus on what I could do today. The first thing on my list was dance class. Dancing is my passion and even though things haven’t been easy lately I know that when I’m dancing I feel alive.
When I arrived at the studio I felt a bit overwhelmed. My thoughts were scattered worrying about things that weren’t even happening yet. But I reminded myself that right now I’m here to dance. I took a deep breath let go of those thoughts and started moving to the music.
In that hour of dance I let everything else fade away. It was just me the rhythm and the floor beneath my feet. I felt free like all the worries and stress had melted away. By the time the class ended I felt lighter happier and ready to face the day.
The rest of my day was filled with work. It wasn’t easy. there were challenges and tasks that seemed never ending. But each time my mind started drifting to worries about the future or regrets about the past I pulled myself back to the present. I focused on one task at a time doing my best with what was in front of me.
As the day ended I felt proud of myself. I had managed to stay in the moment to focus on today instead of getting lost in thoughts about yesterday or tomorrow. It wasn’t a perfect day but it was a good day because I lived it fully.
