checked my bank account
This morning started off with a jolt of reality I checked my bank account and the balance was lower than I expected. The financial pressure I’d been trying to ignore was back in full force. But I wasn’t going to let it ruin my day. I decided to face the day with a smile even if I had to force it.
At work I could feel the tension building as I faced a long list of tasks. I wasn’t the only one stressed out my colleague next to me was struggling too. I noticed her frustration and decided to offer my help. We worked through her problem together, and for the first time that day I felt a bit lighter. Helping her didn’t solve my own problems but it did make me feel better.
As the day went on, something interesting happened. My mood started to improve. I was still facing the same challenges but they didn’t seem as overwhelming. My forced smile turned into a real one, and by the time the workday ended I felt a small sense of accomplishment. Maybe just maybe my positive attitude was starting to pay off.
That evening, I headed to my dance class with a renewed sense of energy. I was tired sure but I was also determined to bring the same positivity into the studio. I taught with enthusiasm and my students picked up on it. The class was full of laughter and excitement and by the end I felt genuinely happy. As I was packing up one of my students approached me and asked if I could choreograph a routine for a school event. It wasn’t a big job but it was something, and right now every little bit helped.
On my way home I thought about how the day had turned around. Maybe the universe was starting to listen even if just in small ways. It wasn’t much but it was a start and I was going to keep putting out positive energy hoping that eventually it would come back to me.
