Writing Isn’t Always About Passion

Many people start writing because they love it. However when it comes to freelance writing, passion alone won’t pay the bills. In reality most of the topics you’ll write about as a freelancer may not be very exciting or aligned with your personal interests. This episode will explore the importance of balancing passion with practicality.

Writing for the Market vs. Writing for Yourself

Freelance writing often involves covering topics that aren’t particularly thrilling like insurance policies technical manuals or niche business subjects. The key is to approach these assignments with professionalism even if they aren’t your favorite topics. Over time you may find ways to inject some creativity into these projects but the primary goal is to meet the client’s needs.

The Danger of Buying Writing Courses

In an attempt to get better at writing many beginners fall into the trap of buying expensive writing courses. While learning is essential these courses often promise more than they deliver and can be a waste of time and money. The truth is most of the information you need to succeed is available for free online.
