before the sun even peeks through my window
Every morning, I wake up early, before the sun even peeks through my window. The world outside is still dark, and it feels like the perfect time to reflect on where I am in life. I sit on the edge of my bed, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, and think about how I got here.
You see, my life isn’t easy. I’m a dancer and choreographer, but it’s not like I’m famous or rich. I work hard every single day, juggling dance classes, freelance dance work, and dealing with financial problems. I often wonder why things aren’t working out the way I imagined.
Then I remember something important: where I am today is because of what I did in the past. The Law of Humility teaches me that my actions, decisions, and even mistakes have all led me to this exact spot. And while that’s a hard pill to swallow, it also gives me hope that if I change what I do today, my future could be different.
With that thought in mind, I pull on my workout clothes, lace up my shoes, and head to my dance studio. It’s time to take control of my day.
