A Lesson in Patience

woke up feeling tired

Today was a tough day. I woke up feeling tired, and nothing seemed to go right. My phone kept ringing with calls from people I owed money to. It’s hard to stay positive when you’re worried about how you’re going to pay the bills.

But I knew I couldn’t let it get to me. I’ve always believed that patience is important especially when things aren’t going the way you want. So I took a deep breath and headed to my dance class. I reminded myself that my students are counting on me.

At the studio I noticed that one of my younger students was feeling down. She wasn’t dancing with her usual energy, and I could tell something was bothering her. I took her aside and asked if she was okay. She told me she was having a bad day just like I was.

I shared with her how I was feeling too, and we talked about how sometimes we just have to be patient and keep trying. It felt good to connect with her and to remind myself that I’m not alone in facing challenges. I gave her a reassuring smile and we both got back to dancing feeling a little better.

By the end of the day I realized that patience is a form of giving too. It’s about giving yourself and others the time to work through challenges. As I wrote in my journal I reflected on how my actions today were a reflection of my belief in patience and kindness.
